Hazy By Nature Chillax IPA

Fortuna, CA (January 2021) – Kick back and CHILLAX with a fresh pint of the newest addition to the Hazy by Nature Series!

Introducing Chillax IPA! This hop-forward IPA features Strata, Citra, and Amarillo hops and is made with organic grains and London Ale III yeast to help bring out the chronic punch. This Hazy is straight up DANK!

Chillax IPA bursts open with Pineapple aroma which is quickly followed by a tropical and lingering hint of dank juiciness that finishes with a smooth and resinous hop bomb.

Mike Smith, Head Brewer at Eel River Brewing Company explained, “The Strata hops give this IPA a unique dank oiliness, making it more potent than any of the previous additions to the Hazy by Nature series.”

Fortuna, CA (Nov. 2020) – 25 years ago, as the first shovel struck ground, ravens graced the property where Eel River Brewing Co. stands today. On very rare occasions ravens flock together and that is called an UNKINDNESS.

To celebrate 25 years of business Eel River Brewing has aged the classic Raven’s Eye Stout in Caribbean rum barrels for over 9 months! Imparting this Stout with decadent notes of rum, oak, chocolate, and espresso. This brew is a true celebration, as rare as an Unkindness, and as rich as the raven’s forgotten lore.

“This beer is a monster at 11.5 ABV.” said head brewer, Mike Smith. “We wanted to do something special for our 25th Anniversary so we tracked down barrels from a traditional rum distillery in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Beer turned out amazingly potent yet smooth and drinkable.”

A very limited supply of Rum Barrel Aged UNKINDNESS will be available in 16 ounce 4 packs at your local retailer starting November 23rd, 2020. In addition, UNKINDNESS will be available in 22oz bottles and on draft starting November 20th. The 22oz bottle and draft will only be available at our pub in Fortuna, CA. Clarity Peach comes just in time for the Fall season. With a bright floral aroma, juicy body and velvety sweet finish, this limited time offering is the perfect guilt free treat for the season. Clarity Peach is low carb, zero sugar and naturally gluten free. It’s the perfect drink choice for any outdoor activity or Fall outing.

“We wanted to bring a fresh new Fall flavor to the market,” explained Head Brewer, Mike Smith. “The juicy peach notes are reminiscent of peach cobblers and autumn festivities, making it perfect for a Fall release.”

Single Origin Mocha Stout Release

Fortuna, CA (Oct. 2020) – Introducing Eel River Brewing Company’s latest seasonal offering, a rich and creamy Mocha Stout, brewed just in time for Fall!

Made with Single Origin Madagascar Cacao from Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate and Single Origin Peruvian Roast from Humboldt Bay Coffee Company. This luscious milk stout is a collaboration proudly produced by Humboldt County owned and operated businesses Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate, Humboldt Bay Coffee Company, and Eel River Brewing Company.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this collaboration with Eel River Brewing Co.,” said Adam Dick, co-founder of Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate. “We hope that our chocolate can provide that unique base note that sets this beer apart from the rest!”

Local high quality ingredients are key to the richness and depth of flavor in our Single Origin Mocha Stout. The velvety chocolate notes complement the subtle roastiness of dark malts and coffee beans to create Humboldt County’s own Single Origin Mocha Stout.

COVID-19 Operations Update

To our Community, Friends and Family,

We are sharing with you today some news that is leaving us uneasy and saddened for our local community and businesses. Yesterday and today, the State of California and the County of Humboldt issued directives that enforce that dine-in seating must be closed. The directive allows for outdoor seating and take out to remain in place. This means that we are still able to operate as a full-service restaurant for our local community but the only seating that will be available will be in our beer garden.

We feel fortunate to have the outdoor space in our beer garden to stay open and service our community, our friends, and our family. We will remain open with our full service and menu operating solely out of our beer garden. We’ve got all you need to be comfortable in our beer garden, heaters, music and plenty of good beer flowing. We have also added in a stage where we plan to have live music later this Summer. Stay tuned for more updates on events coming down the pipeline.

As always, the safety and health of our guests, our team and our community are top of mind and our practices follow a strict regime to ensure that everyone who joins us feels this way.

We hope to see you all soon, whether it be in our beer garden or to pick up your food and beer to go. We are here for you either way and we will continue to strive to support our local community and update you all as we continue to receive new information.

Summer in the Triangle slated for June 24, 2017

Eel River Brewing Company continues the celebration of their twenty first year in business with their kickoff party for the summer season, Summer in the Triangle on Saturday, June 24th . This year’s event features a more festival-like environment with boot stompin’ music by Lone Star Junction, Kindred Spirits, and the Kent Stephenson Band, as well as local vendor booths, games, and the brewery’s award-winning beer on tap.

This year marked significant growth and some change for Eel River Brewing. The purchase and installation of a custom Codi Canning line in late 2016 resulted in the expansion of their Organic California Blonde Ale and Emerald Triangle Pale Ale beer brands. The brewery heads into the third quarter producing more beer than ever before. This boom in sales allowed for the creation of new positions throughout the company. This year also saw the retirement of co-founder Margaret Frigon, who oversaw the pub and restaurant from the time it was built in 1995.

Eel River Brewing is excited to host a line up highlighting Humboldt County’s toe tappin’ root music makers. Music starts at 1pm with the Kent Stephenson Band – known for “great harmonies, and movin’ danceable spellbinding jams”. Kindred Spirits follows bringing their unique style of “raucous fast bluegrass, to contemplative ballads, and far out jams” to the Summer in the Triangle stage. Headlining is local outlaw country band, Lone Star Junction. Playing a mix of country standards and originals, Lone Star Junction combines the “classic sounds of country music and a hot rod Nashville Telecaster”.

This year’s Summer in the Triangle seeks to celebrate the spirit of camaraderie and collaboration in Humboldt County. The festival will be host to local businesses selling their handmade goods. Vendors include: Bohemian Mermaid, CC Sea Pearls, Dragon Art Glass, Endless Jewelry Arcata, Goldenhares – Textiles Eco Printing, Humboldt Hot Sauce, Humboldt Spice Company, Sandy’s Stuff, and Solace Threads. Each booth contains a unique offering of locally-made products to the event. Plus, the winning home brewer from ERB’s Great American Beer Festival ProAm Brewing Competition will be announced.

Summer in the Triangle is a free event, open to all ages. Those 21 years of age or older will be required to show a valid ID to purchase beer. There will be games, a tie-dye booth and plenty of room for dancing. Guests are invited to bring their own chairs. Eel River Brewing camping chairs will be available inside for purchase. No pets allowed. Parking will be available on site.
